Brand tracking
Track a competitor once, then read what changed every morning.
On this page
Track a brand
- Open Brands and click + Track a brand.
- Paste one of these: the brand's Facebook Ad Library link (it contains
view_all_page_id=), a Facebook page link that contains a number, or the page id on its own. - Click Track brand.
To get the Ad Library link: open facebook.com/ads/library, choose the country and "All ads", search for the brand, and click its name under Advertisers. Copy the address from the address bar.
Tracking does three things: it follows the brand (new ads become alerts), creates a board for it in your Space, and pulls all of its ads. The pull uses 0.4 credits per ad. Owners and admins start the pull; when a member tracks a brand, an owner or admin can pull its ads later with Pull all ads now on the brand page.
Until the first pull finishes the brand shows Awaiting first pull. After it, the placeholder name is replaced with the real page name, picture and category.
Each plan has a number of tracked brands: 3 on the trial, 5 on Starter, 25 on Team, 100 on Agency. You can add packs of five. See pricing.
How the daily crawl works
adintel refreshes every followed brand on a schedule, so you do not have to pull again.
- By default a followed brand is refreshed every 48 hours. Owners and admins can switch one brand to every night with the Sync: every 48 h / Sync: daily button on its page.
- The scheduled refresh of followed brands is shared platform work. It is not charged to your Space's credits.
- The brand's tabs are rebuilt after each refresh. Owners and admins can also click Refresh analytics on the brand page.
What each brand tab means
Open any brand from Brands. The eight tabs are built from the ads adintel has collected for that brand.
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Overview | Active ads, media mix, creative velocity (ads launched and retired over 7, 14, 30 or 60 days), the top 10 ranked creatives and the latest creatives. |
| Ad Library | The brand's creatives with every Library filter, plus a short analytics panel: live ads by media type, top landing pages and top hooks. |
| Ad Rankings | Every creative ranked by how many ads reuse it times how long it has run. Breakout (new or climbing fast) and Evergreen (90+ days in the top 20) tags. This is a ranking estimate, not impression share, and the page says so. |
| Creative Tests | Ads launched on the same day, grouped as a test. When exactly one of a group is still running, it is marked as the winner. |
| Landing Pages | Where the ads send people, with tracking codes removed, ranked by active ads, with desktop and phone screenshots. |
| Hooks | The opening line of each creative, grouped across ads and ranked by the longest run. Export CSV or copy them all. |
| Timeline | One bar per ad for the days it ran, over 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. |
| Partnership Ads | Ads published jointly by a creator page and the brand. The Ad Library feed rarely includes this, so expect zeros on many brands. |
Alerts and the Feed
From the moment you follow a brand, every new creative the crawl finds for it becomes an alert. Ads the brand was already running when you followed it are not alerted.
- Alerts (in the sidebar, with an unseen count): filter by brand, switch between Unseen only and All alerts, click Mark seen on one or Mark all seen.
- Feed: the same new creatives as cards, newest first and grouped by day. Filter by brand and by format (video, image, text) and save to a board straight from a card.
- To get them in Slack or by email, set up digests.
An alert means the creative entered the adintel library, not the moment the brand launched it. Because brands refresh every 48 hours by default, that can be a day or two after Meta started showing it.
Unfollow and delete
- Unfollow (owners and admins) stops alerts and scheduled pulls. The brand, its creatives, your boards and notes stay. Follow it again any time.
- Delete appears only on brands nobody follows. It asks you to confirm, then removes the brand and all of its ads from the library for everyone. It cannot be undone.
Members see the Following badge but neither button.
What the numbers can and cannot tell you
- All counts cover the ads adintel has collected, not every ad Meta ever ran.
- Meta does not publish spend, impressions or ROAS (return on ad spend) for commercial ads. adintel does not estimate them. Rankings and the winning signal are inferences from runtime and reuse, and are labelled that way.
- "Scaled" is Meta's own flag for an advertiser running an ad in 3 or more variants. It is the closest public hint of spend.
